2020 U.S. Clad Proof Set 10 Coins Plus a 2020 W Proof Jefferson Nickel
This set contains 10 Coins dated 2020 in proof quality, protectively encased in two clear plastic lenses and newly designed packaging. The 2020 U.S. Clad Proof Set is accompanied by a special 2020 Jefferson nickel with a proof finish struck at the West Point Mint with a W mint mark. This special complimentary coin is packaged separately in clear United States Mint plastic wrap and inserted into an envelope. United States Mint proof coins feature sharp relief and a mirror-like background. Their frosted, sculpted foregrounds give them a special cameo effect. Proof blanks are specially treated, polished, and cleaned to ensure high quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with specially polished dies and struck at least twice to ensure sharp relief. The coins are then packaged in a protective lens to showcase and maintain their exceptional finish. The 2020 edition of the United States Mint Clad Proof Set features the following. The eleventh annual release of five quarters in the America the Beautiful Quarters. Program. One Native American $1 Coin, Kennedy half-dollar, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel, and Lincoln cent. Each coin in the quarter series features a common obverse with the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and QUARTER DOLLAR. The 2020 reverse side of these coins honor the sites below with the following designs: 2020 S Clad Proof American Samoa National Park NP Quarter. The reverse side design depicts a Samoan fruit bat mother hanging in a tree with her pup. The image evokes the remarkable care and energy that this species puts into their offspring. The design is intended to promote awareness to the species threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting. The National Park of American Samoa is the only park in the
United States that is home to the Samoan fruit bat. 2020 S Clad Proof Weir Farm Connecticut National Historic Site NP Quarter. This reverse side design portrays an artist, wearing a painter’s smock, painting outside Julian Alden Weir’s studio at Weir Farm. It is inspired by various images of the studio and Weir’s paintings created on the property, as well as descriptions of Weir and
his fellow artist’s creative inspiration from the rural environment. 2020 S Clad Proof Salt River Bay U.S. Virgin Islands National Historical Park NP Quarter. The reverse side design depicts a red mangrove tree in an early stage of its life cycle, as it evolves from a very small plant
to an adult tree. The design brings awareness to the park’s endangered mangrove forests and the unique and delicate nature of how the species reproduces in salt water. 2020 S Clad Proof Marsh Billings Rockefeller Vermont National Historical Park NP Quarter. The reverse side design depicts a young girl completing the planting of a Norway spruce seedling near an established tree, continuing the life cycle of the forest. The child represents the conservationist, seeking to maintain a sustainable forest for future enjoyment and education. 2020 S Clad Proof Tallgrass Prairie Kansas National Preserve NP Quarter. The reverse side design depicts a skyward view of a Regal Fritillary butterfly against a backdrop of Big Bluestem and Indian grasses, iconic to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. The obverse design of the Native American $1 Coin retains the central figure of the Sacagawea design first produced in 2000 with the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse design featuring a portrait of Elizabeth Peratrovich, whose advocacy was considered a deciding factor in the passage of the 1945 Anti-Discrimination Law in the Alaskan territorial legislature. The foreground features a symbol of the Tlingit Raven moiety, of which she was a member. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,
ELIZABETH PERATROVICH, $1, and ANTI-DISCRIMINATION LAW OF 1945.
